My semester is over! Hallelujah! Classes ended, papers turned in! Phew! Life can resume to semi normal for 6 weeks.
I wish I had something more exciting to write about. I ran my first official group at my internship and it went well, so there's that! I went on a date that I want to be more excited about but can't seem to be...
I kinda don't know what to do with myself now that I've got some free time. I think I'll start with turning up the heat to a blazing 62 degrees, making a toasted pb&j and curling up on my couch for some serious vegging out, holla!

Celebrate Good Times, C'mon!
I got to be part of a staff holiday party and it was pretty good times in that way that staff parties can be. Kind of awkward and fantastic. Which got me to thinking about holiday parties past and present. I've been part of some great ones and part of some mediocre ones. Professional and private.
I have found that when there are games involved I am sooo there! Which got me to wondering what ideas I could find online for Christmas party games and whatnot. How did we ever find information before this crazy computer age?! Sheesh. I was just looking for game ideas but I found quite the Christmas party comprehensive website. From party start to finish I have to give a shout out to Celebrations.com! If you want ideas for Christmas party games this is the place to go! In addition to games, you can find recipes (make your own marshmallows?! Umm, yes please!), drinks, tips, you can send out invitations to your party... It's one stop shopping really. Speaking of one stop shopping... Okay so you may not be able to buy the groceries for the recipes offered however check out the Christmas decorations!
This may be my new favorite website for all things Christmas! I'm learning all sorts of new things left and right! Crafts and activities, down to history and traditions! I mean, really, what is not to love?!
All in all my happy little tree and I wish you a Merry Christmas!

Can the World Stop...
I'd like to get off now. I can feel myself on the verge of a crying melt-down. Why does life have to always be so friggin intense?? Just when it seems like it is letting up a little it's almost as if you get hit double time. I'm trying not to put too much stock in the future... As in 'in 2 years it'll all be better' but it will be better!! I am finding moments to enjoy and take comfort in, fleeting as they may seem. I am overall pretty "happy" in general so I don't really feel like I'm putting all my eggs in the "in 2 years" basket, but still! Ugh. I realized on my way home tonight I don't even know what I look like anymore! Physically and mentally. I have no idea how I'm coming off, if I make any sort of sense, etc.
I'm glad that I tend to go into new ventures with a pretty open mind/blank state approach. I knew grad school would be different. I did not know how different. Nevermind all the craziness with the economy and whatnot. That is for sure not helping my stress levels. I'm thinking that even by next September I should be much more mellow than I am now. Not saying I'll be completely mellow, but by then I'll know what I'm dealing with as far as money for school and living, etc.
Okay I'm going back to my knitting. I'll find some solace in that, even for just a moment or two.

No Regrets
So I left a decently paying, secure job, a relationship, ... a life to move back to Boston and go to school. It seems like a silly thing now even though when I made the decision I didn't know the economy would be in the shambles that it now is. However no matter how I turn it over in my head, no matter the underlying, chronic stress it causes me it was absolutely the right decision. There are things that I miss about the other life I created and then left, however... Every day I feel it right down to the center of my being that I am meant to be back here in MA. The T, the buildings, the weather, the walking... I am home. I never knew I could relate so strongly to a place, but I am East Coast/New England/MA/Boston to the bone. I wasn't raised in Boston, so I'm not all extra Boston savvy in that regard. I did come up near by and then attended college in town.
I guess it's good that I feel so strongly about being home because I'm here now and who the hell knows what the next couple of years will bring! But I am home with all the Boston Sports, Dunkin Donuts and Fluff glory! Amongst all the other wonderful Boston-ness!
